Here’s a video we found showing the ending of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. In it, the hero, Drake is seen outrunning Shambhala guardians in a manner that has more than a passing similarity to your and our favourite temple escape game!
Skip to 1:16 or so if you want to get straight to the action.
Incidentally, Uncharted 2 is an excellent game. If you like Temple Run and have a PS3, you should check it out. It’s in the “Platinum” collection now so it’s pretty cheap. It seems like someone at Imagi Studios enjoyed playing the final chapter of the game and thought… I could make an iPhone game out of that! Slightly dubious legality and morality aside, we think it turned out pretty well!
We’ve had a few people ask us how to get the mysterious “Double Resurrection” achievement, so here’s our quick guide:
Make sure you have at least two Resurrection items. You can find them in the Store under Utilities – the icon looks like some wings. They cost 500 coins each and you may buy as many as you can afford!
In game, double tap the screen anywhere to activate the Resurrection powerup. You now have 30 seconds during which if you die, you’ll be resurrected. To get the achievement, make sure you die during this time.
After being resurrected, you’ll need to run at least 1000 metres before you can activate your second Resurrection just like you did before. Die and be resurrected again and you should get the achievement. Easy!
Sad news for all of those Android users out there – I’m told there are more of you out there than iOS users, actually – Temple Run for Android has been postponed! We’re told that the previous ‘official’ release date of February 9th was, in fact, decidedly unofficial.
The rumour this time is of an early March release date. We’ll keep you posted!
In case you haven’t seen it yet and want to know what all of the fuss is about: here’s the official HD trailer for Temple Run on the iPhone. As the Android launch is just around the corner, perhaps there’ll be a new trailer released for it. If there is, we’ll be sure to post it and compare any differences between the two!
Admittedly it’s an awfully long video for what purports to be an ‘official trailer’ and… well, we’re not that impressed with the score! Let us know what you think in the comments.
Hot off the presses: Temple Run is coming to Android February 9th, 2012!
At the time of writing, the iOS version has had over 20 million downloads and numbers around 7 million active users daily! As there are currently more Android devices out there than Apple’s iOS devices, those numbers might be about to be smashed by the Android launch.
We’ll be keeping an eye on the Android Marketplace for it. Keep checking back here for more Temple Run news as it happens!
